Energy Design Assistance

Our EDA program will help identify energy and cost-saving strategies for your business' construction or renovation projects. We offer three ways to help you meet the unique needs of building efficiency into your new construction or renovation project: Basic, Enhanced, and Express. Please visit the Xcel website to learn which program is right for you.

Eligibility: 

To qualify, you must be: A Colorado business electricity customer with or without natural gas services (gas only customers do not qualify); Constructing a new building, adding to an existing building, or renovating an existing space by gutting and replacing equipment (50,000 square feet or larger); Pre-approved. Is your project less than 50,000 square feet? The Energy Efficient Buildings Program may be right for you.

Amount: 
Design assistance for the basic track, and reimbursement for early design analysis and certification in the enhanced track. Plus construction incentives for energy efficiency strategies of up to $250 per kW saved for system peak savings, and $4 per Dth saved. Incentives for kWh range from $0.021 to $0.084, based on the time of day the savings occur.
Compatibility with other opportunities: 
Participation in the Energy Design Assistance program will preclude customers from applying for other Xcel Energy rebate programs related to the project.
